Zillow is Charging Property Managers and Landlords for Rental Listings!

Zillow is Charging $2.45/day for Rental Listings Starting 02/03/2019

Yep…you read that right. $2.45/day which translates to $73.50/month just to list your property for rent on Zillow.com. While Zillow.com is considered one of the most popular websites for tenants to visit in order to find rental vacancies, not so sure this will continue. Having said this, I received an email from Zillow.com on 01/03/2019 stating that rental listings in Illinois will be $9.99/week and the first listing is free.

What does this mean for Landlords?

Well, for starters, Zillow.com is not charging Realtors to put rental listings on the local Multiple Listing Service and syndicate to the Zillow.com website. So, as a landlord, you could develop a relationship with a local Realtor to list your home for rent on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for a fee.

Note, these fee changes only apply to the States of Illinois, Delaware, New Hampshire, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee with the fee structure provided in this post.

Good news is that Zillow.com will allow listings listed prior to 02/03/20 to be listed at no additional charge. Every new listing provided after that time will come with a fee associated to it.

What is Included in the Zillow.com Listing Fee?

Monthly fee includes :

  • Online tenant screening
  • Digital Lease Builder
  • Online Rental Payment for a one-time fee

This listing fee includes these items and you can not remove the screening, lease builder, and and online rental payment option. However, your listing will be included on Zillow.com, Trulia.com, and Hotpads.com.

Where Can Landlord List to Bypass Zillow.com Fee?

Landlords could also explore listing on websites such as :
